June 2011 - BrazilMarcos Guimaraes, AIESM Agent in Brazil organized an international steel sculpture symposium in the city of Valinhos, San Paolo, Brazil. The symposium took place from the 11th to the 26th of June at the Caac, center for the arts, culture and commerce of Valinhos. The sculptures realized during this symposium are inspired to the figure of Adoniran Barbosa, famous Brazilian singer of Italian origin.
The artists invited to participate in the event are:
from Italy: Bettino Francini, AIESM President.
from Canada: Roger Lapalme, AIESM Founder
from Mexico: Miguel H. Urban, AIESM Manager in Mexico
from Brazil: the same Marcos Guimaraes and Catuì.
Special guest: the cuban photographer Mario Diaz.
The works realized during the symposium have been donated to the city of Valinhos, for the commemoration of the figure of Adoniran Barbosa, that was born here.
