July 2007 - Thailand

On the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary 5th December 2007, Tourism Authority of Thailand with AIESM organized the International Festival of wax sculpture promoting as well the Candle Procession –an annual Festival at Ubon Ratchathani province. For the Thai people it has been an unique occasion to show its gratitude and respect to the beloved King. The event took place from the 11th to the 31st of July 2007. The organizing committee invited, as a taken of honour, 9 international artists as representatives of different countries to come and join the International festival sculpting 3 pieces of wax candle sized 100 cm.× 100 cm. × 100 cm. each;

Following the list of participating artists:
Bettino Francini - Italy, Oleh Bezyuk - Ukraine, Arlindo Arez - Portugal, Stefanie Krome - Germany, Ilja West - Finland, Joseph Visy - France, Kaizawa Toru - Japan, Rewat Dekaew - Thailand and another artist in representation of China.
At the end of the event, on July 31st 2007, the wax sculptures realized during the festival have been exhibited in the national celebration for the 80° birthday of the King that took place in Ubon.
