AIESM, International Association for Monumental Sculpture Events, promotes the sculpture and the sculptors at international level.

November 2006 – Mexico

Culture and Art for Chiapas, A.C., the Municipality of Comitan Chiapas and AIESM, International Association for Monumental Sculpture Events organized the 2nd. International Symposium of Sculpture which took place from the 3rd to 15 of November 2006 in Comitan, Mexico.
The sculptures has been realized on stainless steel, inspired to the theme of the "Duality."
The organization of the symposium received 28 projects from different countries, among which it selected the proposals of the following artists:
Franco Daga - Italy, Arlindo Ares - Portugal, Vincent di Vincenzo - France, Rolando de Jong Orlando - Netherlands, Michael Lyons (United Kingdom) , Griselda Jacqueline - Chile, Jeannette Betancourt - Porto Rico, Josè Luis Torres (canada), Jorge de Santiago - Mexico, Luis Aguilar - Mexico (organizer).
The sculptures have been created in a laboratory open to the public in the city of Comitan.
Wide publicity has been given to the event on T.V. and press.
The sculptures created dring the event remained ownership of the town of Comitan and entered to belong to the future "Museum of Contemporary Art of the South"
