July 2006 - ThailandOn the Auspicious Occasion of the Celebration for the 60th Anniversary of the King’s Coronation in 2006, Tourism Authority of Thailand , the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Art of the Silpakorn University in Bangkok and the AIESM management in Thailand have organized the International Wax Crafting Festival. This year, on 2006, all Thai people was joining in crowning their monarch’s long reign with a nationwide celebration. For the Thai it was also a unique occasion indeed for them to show their gratitude and respect to the beloved King. This International Wax Crafting has been a project to celebrate this occasion.
The event took place from the 29th of June to the 10th of July 2006 in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand.
The following 6 International artists, chosen between AIESM Managers worldwide, have participated to the Festival, together with local artist: Bettino Francini (Italy), Miguel Hernandez Urban (Mexico), Madan Lal (India), Leonard I. Rachita (France), Arlindo Arez (Portugal), Florence Hoffmann (Luxemburg).
At the end of the festival, on the 10th of July 2006, the wax sculptures realized during the event have been exhibited in the nationwide celebration for the 60th Anniversary of the King’s Coronation.
