October 2005 - MexicoThe Association Cultura y Arte para CHIAPAS AC, the Municipality of COMITAN in Chiapas and AIESM, International Association for Monumental Sculpture Events, organized from the 1st to the 12th of October 2005 an International Symposium of sculpture on stainless steel in the town of Comitan Chiapas, Mexico.
Among 32 projects received in representation of different countries (Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Australia, England, Japan, Spain, Estonia, Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba, Chile and Porto Rico) the committee of selection has chosen, for their realization during the symposium, the projects of the following artists:
Eduardo Waxemberg, Argentina - Bettino Francini, Italy - Juan Carlos Segovia, Argentina-Sweden, Ramòn Morales Rossi, Venezuela - Alois Schild, Austria - Josè Villa, Cuba - Vincent, France - Alber de Matteis, United States, Jorge de Santiago, Mexico and the organizer Luis Aguilar, AIESM Agent for Mexico.
The 9 monumental sculptures on stainless steel created during the symposium, became permanent artistic patrimony of the city of Comitan in Chiapas. The event has been largely diffused and publicized .
