PUBLIC ART AWARD - UKDeadline: 10th June 2015The award is open to Sculptors of any age and nationality working in any style or media who are yet to be recognised as practitioners in public art. This is interpreted to mean that you will not yet have won an open (or closed) competition for a commission to create a work for a public space to the value of £15,000. For those who have received formal training the expectation is that they will have a minimum of three years post education practice.
Sculptors will:
- be paid a fee of £500 for the design and submission of a maquette and proposal.
- participate in the exhibition of short listed work .
The winning sculptor, announced during the exhibition, will be awarded:
- £10,000 towards production/installation cost of a work to keep or sell.
- the opportunity for individual mentoring.
- an exhibition/installation of the winning work for a maximum period of one year.
- Subject to funding, an accompanying exhibition in an art Gallery.
Theme
The theme for the 2015 Award is Memory, particularly suitable for the selected sites as the majority of the patients in the elderly ward suffer from cognitive dis-functions caused by Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, or strokes.
