ART FESTIVAL 2015 - CANADADeadline: 31st may 2015Call for a wood sculpture festival that will take place in Canada from 5 to 9 august 2015.The Festival invites artists from here and abroad to apply to participate in this event.
Eligibility:
Artists or teams of professional artists (maximum of two artists per team).
The event brings together artists who need to create outdoor on a four-day period a work of art (sculpture or assembly) from driftwood while interacting with the public;
- Each artist provides his tools and what they need to protect themselves from the sun and rain (cover or canvas);
- The works must be carved with the possibility of assembly. Installations and land art are not accepted. The works can be enhanced by applying an oil or stain, not paint. It is mandatory that the sculpture minimally measures 1.5 meters in height, must be designed in a spirit of continuity and easy to move;
- The organization provides driftwood necessary for the realization of the works, electricity, heavy machinery and manpower to help artists move and install the pieces of wood floated. Liability insurance protects the artists for the duration of the event.
- Each artist or team of artists (maximum of two artists per team) receives a scholarship of $ 750.00;
- Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, but the cost of accommodation and meals are provided on site by the organizing committee
