INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE WORKSHOP – TURKEYDeadline: 20th April 2015A Turkish town organizes an International Sculpture Workshop, with the aim of increasing the variety of the city’s artworks on public spaces as well as providing the citizens with an opportunity to spectate different artistic activities from the ground up and allowing the artists to communicate and interact with their colleagues and the citizens. The International Sculpture Workshop will be held between the dates of September and October, 2015.
The artists to be chosen for the Workshop will be determined based on their application files, by a Jury that the Organization composes. 5 Artists who will be approved by the Jury will participate in the workshop. If the Jury considers it necessary, the number of participants may be less than 5.
No theme is defined for the Workshop. Works shouldn’t have been displayed in other places before and they must be original. Artists can send maximum two different designs. As the artworks will be placed on public spaces, they should be of appropriate size as per the urban scale.
The material will be clay, and bronze molding will be provided. The artist can use additional materials other than the ones that the Organization will provide. However the artist is responsible of the technical solution and expenses.
The necessary clay will be provided by the Organization. In addition, the Organization will provide installation and the base of the works and the necessary materials, as if they were stated in the application form.
The work will be executed outdoors, but the working place will be covered from atmospherical agents. The artists must be prepared for seasonal weather conditions such as cloudbursts and heat.
Working time: from 08:30 to 19:00. The artists should be present within the working hours in the Workshop area and they are obliged to abide by the Workshop calendar.
The expenses of transportation and accommodation together with breakfast, lunch and dinner of the artists who attend the Workshop will be covered by the Organization.
Honorarium
An amount of € 5,000 will be paid to the artist.
